The good, the bad and the ugly of 2020, everything that I’ve managed to accomplish throughout this rather turbulent year in landscape and wildlife photography. A retrospective of my favourite images that I managed to capture through a rather difficult year for everyone. I managed to accomplish a lot more than I realised despite what’s going on in the world.
After 15 hours sitting a hide and watching ospreys dive, I managed to capture this amazing image of a wonderful bird. Back lit and in black and white, truly dramatic and a wonderful osprey image. This is the story of how I managed to take that image.
A winter’s day of wildlife photography, trying to find the elusive ptarmigan on Cairngorm mountain and eventually encountering a mountain hare in its winter pelage. A hard day with a great reward, this is the tale of one of my favourite mountain hare pictures that I have captured.
A late night adventure stumbling around the forest trying to capture my first astro-photograph, an interesting star trail over the wonderful Scottish Loch Garten. After finishing my tour with Shetland Nature, I continued to explore Shetland, going to places that we had missed during our tour. My main pursuit was landscape images, but if a wildlife opportunity presented itself, I certainly would get some images.
